In addition to acting in movies and on TV, Zooey Deschanel also sings, plays, and writes her own music. She currently plays the lead in the Fox series "New Girl", a gig which has earned her a Golden Globe nod for her portrayal of main character Jess Day.

Zooey has been able to land leading roles in popular flicks such as 2008's hit comedy Yes Man and the summer rom-com "500 Days Of Summer" (2009). In 2011 she again starred alongside Paul Rudd when the two were cast in the comedy film Our Idiot Brother.
