Viola Davis lands two new leading roles

A 2011 dramedy that depicts a Mississippi town's experience adjusting to the changing times of the 60's. Emma Stone plays a southern girl who returns from college determined to become a writer. Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan causes quite the stir when she decides to interview black women in the community who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Though some of her closest friendships hang in the balance, Skeeter is unwilling to give up on her new endeavor, and soon more women come forward to tell their stories. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say about it. In addition to Emma Stone, "The Help" stars Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jessica Chastain, Chris Lowell, Sissy Spacek & Octavia Spencer.

Viola Davis has landed two new leading roles.

The Oscar-nominated 'The Help' actress will star in 'Creatures' based on the book by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia and will take one of the main parts, playing a librarian friend of the lead character, who loves him like a mother.

The movie is the first of a planned trilogy which will cover the other books 'Beautiful Darkness' and 'Beautiful Chaos' in the series about two teens dealing with a curse which has plagued a family for generations.

The film will be directed by Richard LaGravenese, who also wrote the script, and is set to start shooting in New Orleans in April.

Viola, will also star in 'Ender's Game', which tells the story of a talented youngster recruited by humanity to fight off an insect-like alien race. She will play a military psychologist who oversees the emotional welfare of young trainees and helps design the games that test their skills and resilience.

Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Sir Ben Kingsley and Harrison Ford will also take on roles in the movie.

'Ender's Game' is set to start shooting shortly.
