The suspicious and sudden deaths of two men lead newspaper reporter Cal McAffrey (Russell Crowe) to dig deeper into what he sees as a potential conspiracy. With a turbulent past connected to a Congressman and the aid of an ambitious young rookie writer (Rachel McAdams), Cal begins uprooting clues that lead him to a corporate cover-up full of insiders, informants, and assassins. "State of Play" also stars Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Helen Mirren and Robin Wright.
