Julia Roberts' Eat, Pray, character Love
Julia Roberts thinks 'Eat Pray Love' heroin Elizabeth Gilbert is an "amazing woman".
The 42-year-old actress - who portrays the author in the big screen adaptation - confesses she has much admiration for her because of her bravery.
She said: "She's an amazing woman. I've travelled a lot by myself and it's very intimidating to walk down a street alone in a place where you don't speak the language and don't even know where to get groceries.
"I think it's very telling about her that she was able to do it. One of the things I was excited to portray is her passion for life and the people in it."
Julia also admits she had a great time filming in Rome, but didn't get much chance to explore the Italian capital because of her heavy work schedule.
She told Hello magazine: "It's the third time I've worked there and I always find it such a welcoming city.
"I couldn't do much sightseeing because I didn't get a lot of time off - I'm in every scene of the movie. Any time I did have off the weather was too hot to do much, so I spent it relaxing around the hotel pool with the kids."
Meanwhile, the Hollywood beauty is to be honoured for her illustrious movie career at an upcoming Spanish film festival.
Julia has been given the coveted Donostia Award by the San Sebastian Film Festival, and is expected to attend the event in early September to present 'Eat Pray Love' with her co-star Javier Bardem.
Previous winners of the award include Sir Ian McKellen and Meryl Streep.
