Fourth of July Weekend is Here! What Will You See?

"The Lone Ranger" arrives in theaters on Friday, July 5. Right in time for the Fourth of July weekend, director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer team up to bring a nostalgic icon to the big screen. Tonto and John Reid may come from different cultures and different backgrounds, but they soon realize that they both crave justice against wrongdoers. Together, the two men form an unconventional but unstoppable team. Against the gritty background of the Old West, John Reid transforms into a mysterious and avenging hero. "The Lone Ranger" has a PG-13 rating for suggestive material and intense action and violence.

"Despicable Me 2" is a charming animated sequel to "Despicable Me" (2010), directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. Now that he has a family, Gru has changed his evil ways. But he ends up sucked into the middle of a dangerous scheme when the Anti-Villain league recruits him for a tough job. Rude humor and mild action sequences contribute to the movie's PG rating.

"The Way, Way Back" arrives in select theaters on Friday, July 5. Nat Faxon and Jim Rash direct. Summer vacation should be a relaxing time for Duncan, a moody fourteen-year-old. However, his mother's pompous new boyfriend is draining all the fun from Duncan's summer, and an unconventional friend will have to restore his confidence. The PG-13 rating is due to thematic elements, mature content, language, and brief drug material.

In "Stuck in Love," Greg Kinnear is William, a writer whose life off the page is falling apart. His two teens are aspiring authors, one of whom succeeds a little too well and one of whom is overly cautious. William also tries to reenter the dating pool after a painful divorce. The film features teen drug and alcohol use, mature content, and language, leading to a PG-13 rating. Josh Boone directs.

"Just Like a Woman" focuses on two women who come together with a dream of winning a belly dancing competition. As they get to know each other, Marilyn and Mona realize how alike they really are. Marilyn is trying to outrun a painful past, while Mona has a secret that could crush her."Just Like a Woman" has an R rating for language and mature content. Rachid Bouchareb directs.

"Hammer of the Gods" is an epic new action film from director Farren Blackburn. A brave young Viking sets out across unfriendly territory to find his long-lost brother and save his kingdom. Along the way, the young man will have to discover his inner strength and claim the power that is his rightful heritage. The movie has an R rating for bloody violence, nudity, and language that includes mature references.

"Monsters University" is an animated film from Dan Scanlon. When Sulley and Mike arrive at Monsters University, they are both hoping to succeed. Sulley tends to have more fun, while Mike studies hard and works relentlessly. Soon, Sulley realizes he might have to step up his game to compete with the dedicated Mike. The family-friendly movie has a G rating.

In "The Heat," Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy star as two women who have unusual approaches to their jobs. Mullins has a violent temper and sense of humor, while Ashburn is uptight and unpopular. When they learn that they will be partnered together, both women have important lessons to learn from each other. "The Heat" has an R rating for crude content, strong language, and violence. Paul Feig directs.

"World War Z" stars Brad Pitt as a man who unexpectedly holds the key to humanity's survival. With a zombie pandemic sweeping the planet, Gerry Lane investigates the source of the virus. It soon becomes a race against time to discover a cure, before human civilization comes to an end. Disturbing images, zombie sequences, and violence contribute to a PG-13 rating. Marc Forster directs.

"White House Down" focuses on an aspiring Secret Service agent who is on a tour of the White House with his young daughter. After he learns that inside forces are threatening the President's safety, the man knows he has a chance to be a hero. First, though, he must protect his daughter. "White House Down" has a PG-13 rating for sequences of action, violence, explosions and gunfire, plus some language and a mature image. Roland Emmerich directs.

Zack Snyder directs "Man of Steel," the latest take on the Superman story. Clark Kent wonders about his past, finding it hard to relate to other people. When a dark figure from his youth comes to find Clark, the young man realizes it is time to unleash his destiny and protect the planet he now calls home. "Man of Steel" has a PG-13 rating for intense sequences of sci-fi action, violence, and destruction, as well as for language.
