Colin Firth and Sir Ben Kingsley star in this 2007 war-themed fantasy action adventure film loosely inspired by the events of 5th century European history, notably the collapse of the Western Roman Empire under its last Emperor, Romulus Augustus (Thomas Sangster). After ruling for only a day, the young leader becomes imprisoned on the island-fortress of Capri, where he discovers the legendary sword of Julius Caesar. It is at this moment that he realizes he must do everything in his power to save Rome. Aided by the clever strategies of his teacher, Ambrosinus (Kingsley), and the heroic skills of his loyal legionnaire, Aurelius (Firth), Romulus escapes and travels to Britannia in search of the last Roman Legion – the fabled Dragon Legion.
