James Franco to play Linda Lovelace's husband?
Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren and Mary-Louise Parker star in the 2010 action-comedy that is "Red". After he's threatened by a high-tech assassin, former black-ops agent Frank Moses (Willis) reassembles his old crew to go after their longtime assailants. The movie's title (RED) stands for "Retired Extremely Dangerous".
James Franco is in talks to play opposite Kate Hudson in a Linda Lovelace biopic.
The 32-year-old actor - who earlier today (25.01.11) was announced as a contender for the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of climber Aron Ralston in '127 Hours' - has been offered the role of Chuck Traynor, a pornographer who married troubled actress Linda, the star of movie 'Deep Throat'.
The lead has been offered to 'Almost Famous' actress Kate, according to Deadline.com.
The adaptation has been written from the book 'The Complete Linda Lovelace' by W. Merritt Johnson, and is being helmed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, who worked with James on 2010 drama 'Howl'.
James revealed his own experience of the sex industry earlier this week, when he told of his own home made sex tape when he was 19 - which he said taught him respect for porn stars.
He said: "I remember when I was 19 doing that, and then watching it back and thinking, 'Oh, that looks horrible.' You have a lot of respect for those actors in pornography, because they are really not just doing it, they're really selling it."
The film is a different production to 'Inferno' - which is also about Linda's life - which at one point had troubled actress Lindsay Lohan attached to star.
Linda was married to Chuck while she starred in 'Deep Throat', but later divorced him and left the pornographic industry, which she later derided in a number of biographies in the 1980s, including her 1986 book 'Ordeal'.
The movie is currently said to be looking for financial backing.
