The Weekend is Here! What Will You See?

Bryan Singer directs "Jack the Giant Slayer," which opens in theaters on Friday, March 1. The fantasy movie offers a fresh take on the classic fairytale. Jack may be a humble farmhand, but he ends up bringing about huge changes. Jack accidentally makes it possible for vengeful giants to enter his world, where they plan to end a vicious war started centuries before. "Jack the Giant Slayer" is rated PG-13 for frightening images, brief language, and intense fantasy violence.

"Stoker" is a compelling new thriller from Park Chan-wook, the acclaimed director of "Oldboy" (2003). After India's father dies, her world crumbles apart. To make matters worse, she must survive with her eccentric mother and her mysterious Uncle Charlie. As her life spirals out of control, India has to learn who to trust. Although she feels drawn to her uncle, she realizes he may be hiding dark secrets. "Stoker" has an R rating for disturbing violence and mature content.

Scott Moore and Jon Lucas direct "21 And Over," an irreverent comedy. Jeff Chang is the kind of son every parent wants: smart, dedicated, and hardworking. On the eve of an important med school interview, his friends decide that Jeff seriously needs to unwind and relax for once. Jeff agrees, but he has no idea what kind of night will unfold. The raunchy film has an R rating for crude mature content, graphic nudity, drugs and drinking, and language.

"The Last Exorcism Part II" comes to theaters, completing the terrifying tale that started with "The Last Exorcism" (2010). Ed Gass-Donnelly takes over as director, while Eli Roth produces. Nell can barely remember anything, and as she pieces her memory back together, she almost wishes she had not. Nell only wants to start life anew, but an evil presence waits in the wings to attack again. The film's PG-13 rating is due to terror, language, and horror violence.

Todd Robinson directs "Phantom," out in theaters on March 1. Set during the Cold War, the taut thriller focuses on the captain of a Soviet submarine. As he struggles to keep his professional life together, Demi tries to hide the fact that he suffers from health problems, making it hard for him to distinguish reality from his own skewed perceptions. It soon becomes clear that Demi is in over his head. The movie's R rating is due to violence.

The comic talents of Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy really shine in "Identity Thief." When Sandy Patterson, a hardworking family man, realizes that his bank accounts are nearly empty, he cannot explain where all the money went. There is somebody who knows exactly what is going on: Diana, the irrepressible woman who has stolen Sandy's identity and will not give it back without an epic fight. Director Seth Gordon's popular comedy has an R rating for language and mature content.

"Snitch" draws inspiration from actual events, telling a gripping tale of a father's willingness to fight for his son. When young Jason ends up in prison, facing a merciless sentence for drug charges, he turns to his estranged father for help. Jason believes he is a pawn in a bigger plot, and John decides to trust his son. He goes undercover to clear Jason's name and possibly even save his life. "Snitch" has a PG-13 rating for sequences of violence and drug content.

"Escape from Planet Earth" explores the issue of sibling rivalry in a fun and quirky way. On the planet Baab, Scorch Supernova is a big deal. Handsome, strong, and charming, he comes to the rescue of anyone who needs help. When he heads to planet Earth to answer a distress call, Scorch ends up being the one who needs rescuing. His brother, Gary, might not be up to the challenge. Cal Brunker's family-friendly animated movie has a PG rating for action and mild rude humor.

"Safe Haven" is a touching and suspenseful romantic drama from director Lasse Hallestršm. When Katie arrives in town, she is seeking refuge from a past she wants to leave far behind her. As she falls in love and puts down roots in the town, Katie still holds onto the fear that she cannot fully escape from her dangerous secrets. "Safe Haven" has a PG-13 rating for thematic material involving threatening behavior, as well as for violence and mature content.

"A Good Day to Die Hard" follows the continuing adventures of tough guy John McClane. When his son is in trouble, McClane knows he has to help, even if it means heading into unexplored territory. When he arrives in Moscow, it does not take long for McClane to realize that his son was not being entirely upfront with him. Director John Moore's action film has an R rating for violence and action.
