Chris Brown lands first leading role

Chris Brown has landed his first major film role.

The 'Yeah 3x' singer is taking the lead in 'Think Like a Man', an adaptation of a self-help book by comedian Steve Harvey.

Chris will appear opposite Gabrielle Union in the quirky romantic comedy, which sees four friends have their love lives shaken up when the women they are pursuing buy Steve's book – full title 'Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy and Commitment' - and take his advice to heart.

Passages from the book include: "How to spot a mama's boy and what, if anything, you can do about it," and: "The Ninety Day Rule: Ford requires it of its employees. Should you require it of your man?"

The film will be directed by Tim Story, who has previously helmed 'Fantastic Four' and 'Taxi', while the screenplay was written by Keith Merryman and David A. Newman.

Winning the role marks another step in Chris' comeback after he was convicted of assaulting his then girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna, in 2009.

His previous screen experience includes appearing in dance film 'Stomp the Yard' and crime thriller 'Takers'.
