A biographical sports drama based on the life of surfer Jay Moriarity, whose portrayed onscreen by Jonny Weston. Helmed by Michael Apted and Curtis Hanson, the film chronicles Moriarity's quest to surf America's most dangerous wave, and Frosty Hesson (Gerard Butler), the local legend who takes him under his wing to train him for it. During the course of training, the two surfers form a unique friendship.
