Adam Rodriguez was ''completely uncomfortable'' before he stripped for 'Magic Mike'.

The 37-year-old actor admits he was terrified before the raunchy dancing scenes but found all his worries went away the minute filming started.

He said: ''You feel completely uncomfortable, scared, nervous, and excited. I haven't had butterflies like that in a long time. The minute the music starts ... it all goes away. You just forget about everything and get lost in the moment.''

As well as the fun in the movie - which also stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey - Adam thinks it was important to explore the ''dark side'' of stripping.

He told CeleBuzz: ''I love the fact that all of these people [for the most part] that end up [being strippers] for a living, it's sort of a means to an end in their mind.

''They're like, 'I'm going to do this, until I get to this place. This is sort of a place holder until I really live my dreams - whether it's go to school and graduate, or building some business.'

''And what really ends up happening is that becomes your life. You get consumed by that and what the lifestyle entails - the partying and the making the money that comes pretty easily.

''So there is a dark side to it, and we do explore that in the movie. And I think people need to see that. I think it's something that will resonate with people. That was important to me; I was glad that was an element to the story.''
