The 'Twilight Saga' star - best known for playing werewolf Jacob Black in the vampire movie series - will play lead character Finn in the adaptation of the novel by Catherine Fisher, Deadline.com reports.

The movie tells the tale of Finn, a young man who has spent his life in a futuristic prison society known as Incarceron.

John Palermo is producing the project with Taylor also involved behind the camera, while Adam Cooper and Bill Collage are scripting the screenplay.

Taylor, 18, is currently filming the last two instalments of the 'Twilight' series, 'Breaking Dawn', but will next be seen in drama 'Abduction' about a boy who finds his own baby photo on a missing persons website.
