D.J. Caruso no romantic comedy fan

D.J. Caruso confesses that he can't find a bond with comedies.

The 'I Am Number Four' director admits that as a filmmaker he finds it difficult to relate to romantic comedies compared to other genres because he aspires to work on dark dramas and thrillers.

The director said: "I think the only genres that I can't relate to as a filmmaker are comedies and romantic comedies. I can watch and enjoy them. I am developing a small drama, a dark drama/thriller and wacky modern western with amazing characters."

Besides not having any aspirations to direct any comedies, D.J. reveals that he'd like to work with a handful of actors that have previously starred in light-hearted rom coms.

He said: "I'd love to work with the likes of Jodi Foster, Kate Winslet, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt. Just to name a few..."

However, he struggles to think with one actor or actress in any of his previous films he has particularly enjoyed working with.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I have been blessed to work with some amazing people. Naming one would be impossible, although Kevin Costner is great. I saw him in Ridley's Robin Hood and remembered him in Lost. He is a very talented actor with great comedic chops. He can do it all."
